Samples Of Work|Main Modules
Integrated Studio Project 3
Context:

The Integrated Studio Project 3 was a 6-month long project where I was tasked to give Apex harmony lodge, a Elderly home at 10 Pasir Walk, Singapore a new purpose. I began the six-month adventure by visiting the site to obtain a deeper understanding of the elderly and the location's context. The site must be wheelchair and elderly friendly, thus after providing programs and designing the areas and layout, designs that would suit the old must be created. As this type of project, where we must maintain the columns and beans, was something I had never done before, it was completely unfamiliar to me, and I had no idea what was needed in one.

Learning Points:

Although this was unique and unlikely to happen again anytime soon, I was grateful that I had the chance to experience it. Also, this project has taught me a lot because I had to learn how to work around columns and beams, which was quite difficult for me at first. Also, there were many considerations I had to take into account before applying them because it was an elderly home.

Digital Visualisation 2 | 3D Max
Context:

Building spheres, a dining room, and a bedroom were the activities I was required to do in this unit in order to better develop my grasp of and proficiency with 3D Max. In addition, I had to utilize 3D Max to create a room design for one of the projects' latter sections that had to adhere to the school's requirements for space and furniture. I made the decision to build a dark-themed living room with a pleasant atmosphere, a kitchen off to the side, and the necessary furnishings for a living space.

Learning Points:

I was excited to have the chance to try this out because I was really confused of how 3D Max worked. My understanding has grown greatly as a result of this module, which also gave me some eye-opening experiences. When it comes to rendering and animation, 3d Max is incredibly realistic. I was pleased that I was able to learn this software since I think it will be useful in the future.

Interior Building Systems
Context:

Interior Building Systems introduces key building systems, which also covers the practical uses of plumbing, electrical, including lighting, and mechanical systems, including air conditioning systems. I was given the task to research the fundamental mechanisms that contribute to interior spaces' character, comfort, and convenience for occupants. Then, in connection to my bathroom design, I was required to give complete detailed drawings of how such systems are coordinated and communicated in straightforward line drawings.

Learning Points:

As someone who was very unsure of how the plumbing systems in buildings operated, I was delighted to be given the chance to experience this. This module significantly increased my understanding and provided me with an eye-opening experience. The ability to create my own public restroom layout with proper measurement, as well as the necessary constraints and code from Building and Construction Authority, Public Utilities Board, and Singapore Civil Defence Force, made this module very enjoyable for me.

Digital Visualization 3
Context:

In this subject, I was required to utilize Revit to develop a fixed model design that was a simple two-story office with all of the necessary designs—a staircase, columns and beams, windows, and furniture—created by the school. So, for the following assignment, I was required to build a completely new model with programs and purpose that should not resemble the ones they had given us, as well as the necessary sets of skills and key commands in addition to the required furniture.

Learning Points:

I had no prior knowledge of rendering in Revit, so when I was taught it, I felt it was amazing and thrilling since it would significantly increase the look and caliber of my design. I was particularly appreciative of being taught how to use the software Revit, which I believe will be very helpful to me in the future as I continue to create designs.

Construction & Detailing 2
Context:

I was tasked to identify the structural systems and principles of wood, steel, concrete, and masonry and to apply building materials and methods that were appropriate for the project's particular use and purpose. The next step is to create construction detailing of interior architecture and design elements in section 3D format, illustrating the joints' assembly and include annotations. In addition, I've chosen to concentrate and work on the louvers connecting to the planter box portion of my design for that area.

Learning Points:

As I learned the finer points of those materials while investigating the location I'd selected—Ikea at Tampines—this module gave me a wealth of knowledge about them.
With this experience, I was thrilled and proud of myself for being able to produce such high-caliber work because I never thought I could. While this was my first time developing a model from a section perspective after extruding the elements from a 2D plan into a 3D model, I also really loved building the model.

Integrated Studio Project 2
Context:

I was tasked with finding a new use for Block 306 Canberra Road Multi-Storey Carpark during the six-month Integrated Studio Project 2. I went to the location to learn more about the Carpark and the surrounding sites before I started the six-month expedition. In order to improve the living and connectedness of the residents living nearby, I was assigned the task of changing 50% of the parking lot, redesigning it, and giving it a new purpose. According to interviews and feedback, the residents living nearby lack social contacts and geriatric seating areas.

Learning Points:

I believed that this project would be thrilling because the location was fascinating and I never expected I'd get the chance to design a multi-story parking garage. I have chosen to target the elderly because, according to my research and interviews, there are a lot more of them living in the neighborhood. I redesign the space so that it may serve as a place for seniors to unwind with activities like preparing chinese tea, bonsai-cutting, and chess. I've also added a lot of plant life to the area to enhance the ambience and circulation flow.

Construction & Detailing 1
Context:

I was assigned the duty to understand the structural systems and tenets of wood, steel, concrete, and masonry and to employ building supplies and techniques that were suitable for the project's specific application and objective. The next step is to develop 3D construction detailing of the interior architecture and design components, showing how the joints are put together. In addition, I've decided to build my spiral staircase out of wood, which I've picked as my material. In regards to my Integrated Studio Project 2, this spiral staircase served as a connecting feature that joined all the levels together.

Learning Points:

Building a 3D model allowed me to learn more about the nuances of wood and the restrictions and limitations that come with building things out of it.
I was happy and proud of myself after this experience because I never thought I could produce such high-caliber work. I also really enjoyed making the model with its repetitious usage of wood louvers for the railings.

Form & Space Exploration 2
Context:

Richard Meier, an American architect known for his refinements of and variations on classic Modernist principles: pure geometry, open space, and an emphasis on light, was my choice for this module's assignment to choose a famous architect and use his style of work to explore his style and develop a design model.
I've chosen to draw inspiration from his art and create a design that has a bungalow-like appearance.

Learning Points:

I adore this kind of exposure because it allows students like myself, who are new to the field and may not yet have identified their preferred artistic idiom, to continue exploring until I do.

Other Samples of Work
Architecture Drawings
Context:

Architectural Drawing is a Year 1 Module that covers the fundamentals of hand drawing, architectural handwriting, and practical rendering. It prepares us the basic of what interior and architectural design is about. Afterwards, I had to manually produce the shading and shadows using pencil, markers, and pen to show where they should be. A set of architectural plans for a living room and an outside living area were also asked of me.

Architecture Design Studies
Context:

I was required to select a well-known architect for this module on architectural design studies so that I could research his design aesthetic and list five aspects of his work. I chose Richard Meier as the subject for this module's assignment because of his refinements and variations on traditional Modernist ideas, such as pure geometry, open space, and an emphasis on light that have interests me.

Design Fundamental
Context:

Design Fundemental is a foundational module that was created to help us lay the groundwork for design. It contains an examination of various forms and shapes as well as a knowledge of perspective. I was instructed to illustrate the various viewpoints and investigations of geometric and organic structures. The next step is to comprehend the color combinations that will help us make better color decisions for future architectural design.

Spatial Design Studies
Context:

I was required to construct five models, each measuring 15 by 15 by 14 centimeters, using various design components in order to explore potential inspiration for my integrated studio project 2. As I create models that resemble tree trunks, I decided to analyze a tree trunk as my study object.
